So… I have some big book news that I can finally share with you today! A few weeks ago I got a very exciting email from the good folks over at Cybils.com informing me that River of Crows has been nominated by a member of the public for a 2022 Cybils Award in the Middle Grade Speculative Fiction category.
Given the book only came out in June, I’m feeling quite pleased about this, especially considering the fantastic company my little book is in. Honestly, this still feels a bit surreal. I wrote a book. And people like it! I’m almost as excited as I was when the Ottawa Public Library said they’d add both the paperback and ebook versions of the book to their catalogue… and then had to buy a second ebook copy to keep up with demand (!!! my book is in an actual library and people have it on hold omg omg omg!!!).
You can check out the full list of nominees on the Cybils site — you might find a few great ideas for books-as-gifts to help with your holiday shopping this year, too! I know I picked up a few (and, I might add, they’re even wrapped already, so yay me). Also, finalists will be announced in January, so wish me luck… 🙂
Finally, if you’ve been thinking about picking up a copy of River of Crows, the ebook version is still on pre-holiday sale through most online stores for the next few days, so now is a great time to grab it. 🙂
