Map of Arcania
Early in my writing process for River of Crows, I decided I needed a map to help me keep track of where everything in Arcania was, and how long it would take for the kids to get from one place to another during their adventure. I sketched the first version out on a sheet of lined paper, with my trusty purple pen.
I then created a rough digital version of the map using Affinity Designer. Over time, and as I started to work on books two and three of the trilogy, I added in more details. The island became bigger, and I decided I needed to rotate it a bit to get everything in the right place.
