So, I was looking at my calendar (I finally have it back up on the wall) and suddenly realized that I missed a major milestone that should have been a big cause for celebration. One year ago, I took a great big breath and sent my first ‘lil Arcanium book-baby out into the big, wide world. I’ve been so busy over the past couple of months, however, that I completely forgot about it.
River of Crows, my debut novel, was released on June 1st, 2022, a whole year ago, and I didn’t even mark the occasion. (I mean, I’ve had reasons, what with the whole moving thing and all, but still… I missed my book-baby’s birthday! I’m officially the worst book-mom ever… 😭)
So, in order to make up for it, I’ve decided to celebrate with a Goodreads giveaway. If you’re in the US, you can enter to win one of 50 Kindle copies of River of Crows! (Apologies, Canada. The location restriction is Goodreads’ and Amazon’s rule, not mine. I’ll try to find a way to include us for the next giveaway.)

If you had told me ten years ago that I’d be a published author someday, I don’t think I would have believed it. It’s funny, the turns you take in life. 🙂
It took me six years to write River of Crows. My kids were still small when I started, and so much has happened in those years, and then the wait for it to be published after. It’s strange to look back on it all now and think how huge an undertaking it was. Book two (Mirror of Wolves) is already out, and book three (Stone of Serpents) will be joining its big siblings next year. And there are still more to come in this series. Plus I’ve got another book (could be a standalone, but might end up being a trilogy, haven’t decided yet) on the backburner, as well.
Anyhow. I have rambled enough for today. Happy belated book birthday to River of Crows. I’m still really proud of it. 😊
If you’d like to help make this “bookaversary” extra-special, I would be so grateful if you could leave a review for it anywhere, but especially Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, and even your local library. (And if your library doesn’t have it, you can request that they pick up a copy, and then more people will have access to it!)
And, finally, don’t forget to enter the Bookaversary Giveaway!
