I am thrilled to announce that River of Crows was shortlisted for this year’s Rubery Book Award in the Children’s and YA category! It did not win, but it was still very exciting to make it to the shortlist. 😊
This makes three awards now, either won or shortlisted/finalist, for River of Crows which, given it was my first novel, has been most gratifying. And there will be more excitement throughout the summer as the book was also entered into this year’s Book Blogger Novel of the Year Award (#BBNYA and #BBNYA2024 if you want to follow along on social media) and it will also be a participant in this year’s fantasy blog-off competition run by Mark Lawrence (hashtag for this year is #SPFBOX.)
On top of all of that, River of Crows was also reviewed in the Spring 2024 issue of Canadian Teacher Magazine and my latest interview was published in the June issue of Lit Kids Magazine, too!
All in all, there has been a lot to distract me from getting the first draft of book four finished… but it is getting there. I’m hoping to do the title reveal within the next couple of months, so be sure to sign up for my author newsletter because my subscribers will be the first to know the title of the next book and see the new cover!
