We are less than two months away from the launch of Chalice of Caladriai, book 4 of my Arcanium Saga! I’m sharing something special every week in the lead up to that launch, and today you get a bit of a content teaser ’cause I’m going to tell you about the thing I’m most excited for people to read.
So, as I’ve mentioned before, I like to plan my books. I always start with an outline for each particular book (and, with a series, I also have an overall series outline so I know what needs to happen and when), but I’m not a stickler for strictly following them. I always think of outlines as general guideposts rather than shackles, and things can (and always do) change as I’m writing. And with this book there was a change I hadn’t at all anticipated, but I think it adds a whole new layer of intrigue and excitement to the rest of the series.
That change, and the thing I’m most excited about in Chalice of Caladriai, is the introduction a new character! I hadn’t planned to add someone new to this book, but this character popped into my head with a whole backstory and I just HAD to include him.
I’m dying to tell you more about him, but… spoilers. So, I’m going to keep my mouth shut for now. What I will tell you is that this character gives the team a couple of critical pieces of information (one piece has major repercussions for Ty), and that he’ll also be back in book 5, dropping a HUGE bombshell that will affect several of the characters in ways that will be critical to the series ending.
