Chalice of Caladriai starts about 6 months after Stone of Serpents ended, so everyone has had half a year to try and come to terms with everything that happened with the battle. This scene happens early on, when Ayslenne crosses the barriers between the worlds to try and convince Ty to come back to Arcania with her. Ty, it seems, doesn’t want to go and needs some convincing!
